Petropolis is a family owned business that has been operating the original Chesterfield location for over 30 years and our newest St. Charles location since June of 2020 to provide boarding, daycare, grooming, and training services for our customers. Summary
Petropolis is looking for an Assistant Pet Care Manager to help oversee daily operations when the Pet Care Manager is off, and ensure the best care is provided to our guests. The Assistant Pet Care Manager is expected to assist the Pet Care Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the pet care department to ensure all pets are receiving their daily enrichment activities, staff are staying on task and completing all essential duties, helping to ensure adequate staffing if there are call offs, and communicating with pet parents proactively about their pets. Expected responsibilities include the following:
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the pet care department when the Pet Care Manager is not in
- Lead, mentor, and support the pet care team
- Assist in fostering a culture of exceptional customer service and pet care
- Help maintain high quality standards
- Ensure pet care team's compliance with safety and care regulations
- Participate in manager meetings and suggest changes to systems to create more effective operations
Qualifications
- 1+ Years of management experience is required
- 1+ Years of experience in animal handling or related fields is required
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and colleagues
- Passion for working with animals and commitment to their well-being
- Willingness to learn new skills through training opportunities
- Basic understanding of pet behavior is required
- Must share in Petropolis' Pet Empowerment Values
