OrthoAlabama is recruiting an Self-Pay Collector, preferably with a background in Orthopedics, Physical Therapy and DME. Pay commensurate with experience.
Essential Job Responsibilities
· Communicate with patients to discuss outstanding balances and payment options.
· Establishing payment plans, negotiating with patients, and ensuring timely payments.
· Track accounts, documenting interactions, and ensuring accurate records of payments and arrangements.
· Verifying insurance information, determining patient responsibility, and working with insurance companies.
· Handle inquiries, complaints, and disputes related to patient balances and billing.
· Work with other departments and medical staff to address patient accounts.
· Identify accounts and create bad debt placement files for vendors
· Adhering to relevant regulations like the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
Experience:
- ModMed practice management experience is a plus!
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Job Type: Full-time Onsite
