Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Operator to support our 2nd shift operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret blueprints and engineering plans accurately.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze machining work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications to perform accurate calculations, including interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerances.
- Prepare CNC controllers, set fixture or part zeros and reference points, tool registers, offsets, compensations, and conditional switches. Calculate requirements and prove part programs.
- Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces, ensuring adherence to internal standards.
- Maintain batch specifications by monitoring milling, drilling, grooving, cutting, thread cutting, and tapping operations. Take precise measurements, detect malfunctions, troubleshoot processes, adjust controls, and maintain tooling.
- Ensure shift continuity by documenting actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs for the next shift.
- Complete production and quality logs to accurately document all actions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Strong math skills, including geometry and basic calculations.
- Knowledge of tooling, offsets, and CNC programming.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of maintaining accurate documentation.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work 2nd shift (3:15 PM – 1:45 AM), Monday through Thursday.
