Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner while maintaining quality and presentation.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for new dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other cooking tools.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to management.
- Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices.
Experience
- Previous experience in the food service industry, preferably in a restaurant or fine dining setting.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and kitchen safety protocols.
- Familiarity with menu planning and dietary department requirements is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency with various cooking techniques.
- A team player with strong communication skills who can work well with others in a busy environment.
