PIC Trailers is seeking hardworking, dependable individuals to join our Blast Department. As a Sandblaster, you'll play a critical role in preparing chassis for painting by removing rust, scale, weld spatter, and other surface contaminants to ensure a high-quality finished product.
This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment where you'll work with industrial blasting equipment, grinders, hand tools, and material handling equipment. What You'll Do
- Operate industrial sandblasting equipment to prepare chassis and components for painting.
- Remove rust, scale, grease, dirt, paint, and other contaminants from metal surfaces.
- Inspect chassis and components for weld quality and surface defects.
- Remove weld spatter, sharp edges, burrs, and excess material using grinders, needle guns, air chisels, and other tools.
- Identify and mark weld defects or other quality concerns.
- Clean and maintain blasting equipment and work areas.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, and other tools as needed.
- Read and follow work instructions, job orders, and safety procedures.
- Support paint preparation activities as needed.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Manufacturing, sandblasting, metal fabrication, welding, painting, or industrial production experience preferred.
- Ability to safely operate industrial tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the shift. Employees must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, heat, cold, and vibration while wearing required personal protective equipment.
