Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Optical Technician/Receptionist to join our busy and growing eye care practice. This position combines front-office customer service with hands-on optical assisting to help provide an outstanding patient experience. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for patient care and strong organizational skills. Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Collect and verify patient information, including intake forms, insurance details, and medical history, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare patients for examinations by performing preliminary tests and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage medical records meticulously, ensuring confidentiality and proper documentation of all patient interactions and procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized front desk area; handle phone inquiries professionally.
- Adjust, repair and dispense eyeglasses.
- Process payments and balance daily transactions
- Support doctors and staff with daily office operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in an optical or ophthalmology setting is highly preferred but willing to train the right candidate.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor; ability to handle front desk responsibilities confidently.
- Knowledge of vision insurance plans in a plus
- Ability to work accurately under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Pediatrics experience is advantageous; willingness to learn new skills related to eye care and patient interaction.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
