Duties
- Assist licensed HVAC technicians with installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
- Support the setup of HVAC equipment using hand tools and mechanical systems repair techniques.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and HVAC design plans to aid in system installation and troubleshooting.
- Help diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and assist with electrical diagnostics to identify faults.
- Participate in plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems, including refrigerant piping and drainage connections.
- Conduct routine HVAC system maintenance to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.
- Support system troubleshooting efforts for refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning units, and building automation systems.
- Assist with equipment troubleshooting procedures involving electrical systems, mechanical components, and refrigeration systems.
- Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed during installation or repair activities.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about work progress and system care.
Experience
- Construction experience or prior hands-on work in building maintenance is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, blueprints, HVAC design principles, and building automation systems enhances effectiveness on the job.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, and appliance repair is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and ohmmeters is essential.
- Experience with HVAC system installation, maintenance, repair of mechanical systems, boilers, or property maintenance will set candidates apart.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required for travel between job sites; familiarity with <PERSON> driver standards is beneficial.
