As a key member of our maintenance team, you'll help keep our operations running at peak performance. Responsibilities include:
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic knowledge.
- Diagnose issues with motors, motor starters, VFDs, relays, contactors, sensors, and control circuits.
- Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, gearboxes, chains, belts, conveyors, shafts, and alignment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including valves, cylinders, etc...
- Reduce downtime through effective root-cause analysis and timely repairs.
Electrical & Motor Controls
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC motors, motor control circuits, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control drawings.
- Perform electrical panel work, including troubleshooting control voltage and power distribution circuits.
- Support basic PLC-related troubleshooting (I/O checks, fault diagnostics on controlled equipment).
Preventive Maintenance
- Inspect, test, and service electrical and mechanical components to prevent failures.
- Document maintenance work orders in the CMMS.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all plant safety policies, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety procedures.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
Manufacturing Support
- Work closely with production teams to support equipment uptime and performance.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills including motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and control circuits.
- Solid mechanical maintenance skills on industrial machinery.
- Proficiency in pneumatic systems and air logic.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and electrical test equipment (multimeter, megger, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a modern woodworking factory (CNC equipment, membrane presses, molders, sanders, edgebanders, material handling systems).
- PLC experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) for diagnostics and basic troubleshooting.
- Hydraulic system knowledge.
- Electrical or maintenance certifications.
- Experience with automated manufacturing or CNC machinery.
- Strong PC skills.
