The Library Student Technology Student Worker helps students with basic technology assistance, online learning support, and maintaining the library’s computer lab area. Your role focuses on ensuring students can easily access and use the library’s digital resources and college-wide technology and tools. The Library Student Technology Student Worker is responsible to the Student Technology & Library Services Manager.
Join the library team as a Student Technology Assistant! In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for students who need help navigating technology, from connecting to WiFi to figuring out Canvas before an assignment is due. You’ll work alongside the Student Technology Support Coordinator, as well as our Library Services Specialists, and play an important role in making sure students feel confident using the tools they need to succeed.

Responsibilities
Provide front-line technology support to students by assisting with common issues related to laptops, mobile devices, Wi-Fi connectivity, printing, and other technology resources.
Assist students in the use of academic and campus technology platforms, including Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Respondus, and student email systems.
Troubleshoot basic technology issues and guide students through problem-solving steps to promote technology self-sufficiency.
Support the operation and organization of library computer workstations and technology spaces.
Assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of printers, copiers, and other shared technology equipment, including replenishing supplies and resolving minor equipment issues.
Assist with technology-related projects, instructional displays, resource materials, and other departmental initiatives.
Serve as a welcoming and approachable resource for students seeking assistance with technology and digital learning tools.
Provide support for library services, including directional assistance, circulation activities, borrowing and returning library materials and loanable technology, and shelving and reshelving library resources.
Maintain a professional, organized, and customer-focused environment within the library and learning commons.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A Waubonsee student enrolled in at least one credit.
Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or above.
Be in good standing with Student Conduct.
Be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively assist individuals with varying levels of technical knowledge and experience.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes.
Dependable, adaptable, and committed to providing high-quality support to students, faculty, staff, and library patrons.
Interest in helping others develop confidence and proficiency with technology.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or interest in graphic design, digital content creation, or tools such as Canva.
Previous experience using learning management systems, online course platforms, or educational technology tools.
Experience with online learning platforms and virtual learning environments preferred.
