American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care position at a nursing home setting, requiring at least 1 year of experience with elderly populations and a valid WI or compact RN license.

Post-acute care setting within a nursing home attached to a hospital
-
Long-term care unit serving approximately 70 residents, majority in private rooms
-
Patient population includes dementia, frail elderly, and rehabilitation residents
-
RN-to-resident ratio of 1:20
-
8-hour day shifts on a block schedule
-
Every other weekend required
-
On-call is not required
-
Floating may be required
-
EMR system is ECS (transitioning from Cerner to Epic)

Active WI or compact RN license required by start date

Current BLS certification (AHA) required

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Experience working with elderly patients required
-
Proficiency with IV therapy, catheterization, ostomy care, and related clinical skills required

2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities include charting, patient assessments, charge nurse duties, medication administration, and hands on clinical skills such as IVs, catheters, and ostomy care

Interdisciplinary team includes therapy, administration, social workers, activities, dietary, housekeeping, and RT (on-site 24/7)

On-site pharmacy and medication dispensing system available

Physician coverage is available after hours

Must be available for at least half of holidays during the assignment

Any solid color scrubs are acceptable; attire must be clean and professional

Orientation hours vary based on individual skill level

Candidates who have previously worked for this health system must have an end date of at least 6 months prior to their consideration date, and hospital approval is required

Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local, which may affect the travel pay rate
