Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial management and accounting operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, cost control, and compliance for our construction projects and overall business. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and management of project budgets, ensuring alignment with project scope and client expectations.
- Oversee construction cost management, including tracking expenses, analyzing variances, and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
- Coordinate with project managers to develop detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project scheduling software.
- Manage financial reporting processes, including preparing accurate project financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Ensure compliance with construction regulations, contractual obligations, and industry standards across all projects.
- Supervise teams involved in construction estimating, project coordination, and financial administration to promote efficiency and accuracy.
- Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, HeavyBid, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office tools to streamline workflows.
- Review construction plans and blueprints for cost implications and schedule coordination.
- Oversee contract administration processes to ensure proper documentation and adherence to terms.
- Maintain rigorous project schedule coordination to meet deadlines while managing multiple complex infrastructure projects.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Civil 3D, HeavyBid, and project management tools.
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, project planning, and site coordination practices.
- Proven ability to manage budgets effectively within commercial construction environments.
- Deep understanding of construction regulations, safety standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills combined with a solid grasp of construction plans and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing teams within a construction management or project leadership role.
- Skilled in contract negotiation and administration with attention to detail in managing complex infrastructure projects.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Exceptional time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently across multiple projects.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
