We are seeking a Transmission Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience disassembling, inspecting, repairing, and rebuilding automotive or heavy equipment transmissions. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Disassemble automatic and manual transmissions and inspect components for wear, damage, or failure.
- Clean, measure, and evaluate parts for reuse or replacement.
- Rebuild transmissions using new and reconditioned components according to OEM or company specifications.
- Test rebuilt transmissions for proper operation before delivery or installation.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including parts used and labor time.
- Diagnose transmission-related issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and shop policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience building or repairing transmissions.
- Strong knowledge of automotive powertrains, including automatic and manual systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
