POSITION OVERVIEW: The Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting achievement in the core academic area of Math, especially in the areas of comprehension, problem solving, strengthening foundational skills, and close learning gaps. The Interventionist provides individual or small group instruction to students who are struggling academically. The interventionist will work with core teachers and assist the students within the classroom structure. This position is also responsible for monitoring, reporting, and communicating student progress and performance.

EXPECTATIONS:

● Ability to collect data and make course placement recommendations based on the data for each student.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
● Provides high-quality instruction to individual students and small groups.
● Uses data to provide instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade level.
● Collaborates with teachers, administration, and house parents to help identify best practices for individual and small groups of students.
● Users identified research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student needs.
● Maintains data-based interventions of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress.
● Provides data to teachers and Principal and participates in decisions about student progress.
● Communicate with teachers, administration, and Social Workers regarding student progress.
● Assists with identifying students for placement in intervention groups.
● Reports to teachers, Principal, and Social Worker placement and progress of each student.
● Develops a comprehensive reporting system that will go to Title 1 as the funding resource for this program.
● Provides diagnostic assessments for students as needed.
● Provides input for program development, curricular needs, and technology.
● Supports implementation of assessment tools and data management systems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
SPIRITUAL: Be an active participating member in a local Christian church. In accordance with the Mission of Bethel Bible Village, will share the gospel with children in our care, as well as their families, to help them know and respond to the love of God in Christ.
EDUCATION: bachelor’s degree; Math Intervention experience preferred
EXPERIENCE: One year of youth-related experience is required; previous experience in a classroom setting is preferred.
SPECIFIC SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS: Effective oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills required. Should possess a teachable spirit and cooperative and pleasant attitude; sensitivity to the cultural differences present among the residents and families served.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, LICENSES, ETC: State licenses and certifications to be able to teach in Tennessee.

Pay: $38,000.00 - $42,000.00 per year
