The Fitness Support team member will be a part of a dynamic fitness team to help provide an engaging and empowered whole person well-being experience for our residents and team members with a holistic approach toward outcomes.

Essential Functions for Fitness Support:

Assist in conducting fitness/restorative assessments, the ability to carry out planned exercise programs, assistance with wellness programming and instruction, and engagement.

Executes the fitness assessments and restorative plans written by the therapy and/or fitness center team to include screenings, needs analysis and goal setting.

Maintains ongoing communication regarding the restorative plans, treatment given, results of treatment, as well as any notable change noted by the fitness specialist regarding the resident’s well-being. Alerts fitness specialist and/or clinical coordinator to any significant changes in condition, performance by residents as needed in a timely manner using appropriate avenues of communication and documentation.

Assists in health and fitness programming to ensure a positive wellness experience.

Provides gym room supervision, orientation, and oversight. Opening and closing duties as deemed necessary.

Maintains a safe, clean, and effective environment for members and users of equipment to include cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength training equipment. Use of environmental cleaning agents as listed in the SDS manual.

Maintains durable medical equipment, supply par levels and inventory as needed for treatment purposes.

Enter appropriate documentation in residents Electronic Medical Record (EMR) regarding restorative program in an accurate and timely fashion.
The ideal candidate will possess initiative, organizational skills, judgment, dependability, and reliability.

Physical demands including, but not limited to: walking, sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, carrying, pushing, and pulling residents in wheelchairs up to at least 300 lbs., use of fitness equipment, regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and/or moving up to 100 pounds.

High school degree or equivalent required

Experience in the restorative and/or fitness field preferred

Intuitive knowledge of fitness and wellness components, equipment, and body mechanics

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or other clinical background is a plus
-
Previous work experience with the older adult population or in the senior living industry preferred

First Aid, CPR & AED certification will be required, but can be obtained on the job
