Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Follow safety standards in production, food handling, and sanitation practices at all times
- Support food service operations by plating dishes attractively and efficiently for service
- Use knife skills and slicing techniques to prepare meats, vegetables, and other ingredients with precision
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy hours
Requirements
- Prior experience in a food industry setting such as restaurant, catering, or dietary department preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures essential for maintaining hygiene standards
- Strong culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and meal preparation
- Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities and dietary department experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills, including slicing techniques and food preparation methods
- Ability to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to safety standards in production, food handling, and sanitation regulations
