A Medical Staffing Agency, LLC is seeking highly skilled and experienced School Nurses to support K–12 schools throughout Prince George’s County, MD. We are looking for dedicated nursing professionals who demonstrate clinical excellence, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within an educational environment.
Position Overview
The School Nurse plays a critical role in promoting the health, safety, and well‑being of students. This position requires a nurse who is confident, organized, and experienced in school‑based care. Candidates must have prior school nursing experience and a minimum of three (3) years of total nursing experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily health services to students, including triage, assessment, and clinical decision‑making
- Maintain accurate and timely charting and documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding student health concerns
- Participate in IEP and 504 meetings, offering clinical insight and supporting individualized student care plans
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and school protocols
- Respond to medical emergencies and implement appropriate interventions
- Promote health education and support a safe, healthy school environment
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and FERPA regulations
Qualifications
- Active Maryland RN or LPN license in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience
- Prior school nursing experience is required
- Strong clinical assessment and triage skills
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational abilities
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- CPR/BLS certification (required)
Schedule & Hours
- Hours are based on the school schedule
- Monday through Friday, during school operating hours
- No evenings, weekends, or major holidays
