Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Class A Commercial Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and delivering freight across various over-the-road (OTR) routes. Your expertise in truck driving, cargo handling, and adherence to safety regulations will ensure timely deliveries and exceptional service. Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including flatbed, tanker, and refrigerated trailers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems, ensuring timely deliveries across OTR routes
- Load and unload freight with manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo is secured properly for transport
- Transport hazardous materials (Hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations
- Manage automobile transportation tasks, including vehicle loading, securing, and delivery to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during transit
Requirements
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving
- Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other specialized equipment
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, and hazardous materials regulations
- Experience with truck loading/unloading and logistics cargo handling processes
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently and safely
- Strong understanding of GPS navigation systems for route planning and execution
- Excellent manual handling skills for load & unload operations in various environments
- Prior experience with delivery driver roles involving freight transportation across long distances
