Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Local CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. This role involves operating tractor-trailers within local routes to deliver freight efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial driving, with experience handling various types of flatbed loads of Rebar Steel. This position offers an opportunity to work close to home while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high safety standards.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across designated local routes
- Deliver freight to various destinations, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Assist with route planning to optimize efficiency and safety during daily operations
- Follow all federal, state, and company regulations regarding commercial driving and transportation safety
Requirements
- Min 23 years of age
- Min 1 year verifiable CDL Experience
- No major violations or at fault serious accidents
- Good varifiable work history
- Pass a Criminal Background check
- Pass DOT Drug Test
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Be able to speak & read english
- Experience in truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks
- Prior experience with flatbeds is preferred
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial driving and transportation
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
- Physical ability to throw straps and chains to secure the load
- Valid CA State driver’s license with no major violations or infractions
- Keep the inside of the cab clean
