We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in our West Palm Beach, and Greenacres, FL locations. The SLPA will work closely under the supervision of licensed Speech-Language Pathologists to provide therapy services to children experiencing speech, language, and communication difficulties. This role involves supporting SLPs in assessment, treatment planning, and implementing therapeutic interventions for pediatric patients with a variety of speech and language disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Therapy Sessions: Assist the SLP in conducting therapy sessions for children with speech, language, fluency, or communication disorders.
- Implement Treatment Plans: Follow and implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising SLP. Assist in therapeutic activities that target speech, language, voice, and fluency.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of treatment plans, patient progress, and daily session notes in accordance with clinic standards and state regulations.
- Data Collection: Collect and record client data during therapy sessions, including tracking progress toward goals and documenting changes in behavior, speech, or language abilities.
- Parental/Family Support: Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding the child’s progress, home practice exercises, and strategies to enhance speech development outside of therapy sessions.
- Behavior Management: Help children remain engaged during therapy sessions using appropriate behavior management techniques and support the development of social communication skills.
- Assist in Assessments: Provide support during speech and language assessments by setting up materials, observing clients, and documenting results as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as occupational therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to the child’s development and therapy.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a related field.
- Certification: Valid state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), or the equivalent in your state or region. Some states may require national certification.
- Experience: Prior experience working with children in a clinical, school, or therapy setting preferred but not required. Experience in speech therapy assistance or in a pediatric healthcare setting is a plus.

- Other Requirements:
- Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and child development.
