Highland Lodge is looking for a line cook (or aspiring line cook) to join our kitchen crew as we roll into Summer season here in Greensboro, Vermont.
Things start ramping up around June 1st and then the wheels fully come off in the best possible way — packed lodge, busy restaurant services, weddings, taco nights, live music, beach crowds, late sunsets, and the kind of Summer energy people wait all year for around here.
We’re a small independent lodge and restaurant, so this is not the kind of kitchen where you disappear into the background. You’ll learn a lot, work hard, move fast, and become part of a genuinely fun and talented team.
We’re looking for someone dependable, curious, organized, and excited to grow in the hospitality industry. At least a little kitchen experience is great, but attitude matters more than ego around here.

- Want to grow your skills instead of just punching a clock
About Highland Lodge:
We’re a historic lakeside lodge in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom with ten lodge rooms, ten cabins, a private sandy beach, a lively little restaurant and bar, and a whole lot going on during the Summer months.
We sit one mile from Hill Farmstead Brewery (yes, that brewery), surrounded by incredible farms, trails, swimming holes, bike routes, and some of the best food producers in the country.
Our restaurant focuses on thoughtful, locally driven food without being stuffy about it. Summers here are busy and wildly fun — weddings in the field, packed dinner services, our weekly Margarita Monday taco nights with live music, and guests coming in from all over the country to experience Vermont at its best.
We’re looking for someone who wants to jump into that energy with us.
Bonus points for:
- Baking experience
- Food safety certification
- Strong organizational skills
- Interest in hospitality long term
- Ability to move with urgency while still being kind to people
This is a great fit for someone looking to spend a Summer in a beautiful corner of Vermont, sharpen their kitchen skills, make good money, and be part of a hardworking, slightly chaotic, genuinely fun hospitality crew.
Send us a little note about yourself, your experience, and why this sounds like your kind of gig.
