Position Overview
Yuminaga Spice & Tea is seeking a motivated Remote Freelance Sales Representative to expand our customer base among cafés, restaurants, specialty beverage shops, bakeries, dessert businesses, and other foodservice operators throughout the United States.
This is a fully remote, commission-based independent contractor opportunity. It is ideal for a self-motivated sales professional with strong communication skills, relevant industry relationships, and an interest in matcha, Japanese ingredients, food, or beverages.
The primary focus of this role is to introduce Yuminaga Spice & Tea and its products to prospective wholesale customers, develop qualified sales opportunities, and help convert those opportunities into completed orders.

Yuminaga Spice & Tea is a family-owned Japanese food ingredient supplier with more than 30 years of industry experience. We specialize in matcha, spices, and other specialty food ingredients.
We serve cafés, restaurants, specialty beverage brands, food manufacturers, distributors, and other foodservice partners.
Responsibilities
- Identify prospective wholesale customers, including cafés, restaurants, beverage shops, bakeries, dessert shops, and foodservice businesses.
- Introduce Yuminaga Spice & Tea, our company capabilities, and our matcha and specialty ingredient products to prospective customers.
- Conduct outreach through email, telephone, LinkedIn, in-person networking, and other professional channels.
- Explain product benefits, pricing, sample options, lead times, and the ordering process.
- Follow up consistently with prospective customers and maintain professional relationships.
- Collect relevant customer information and maintain accurate records of conversations, qualified leads, and sales opportunities.
- Help move qualified prospects from initial interest through sample requests, quotations, and purchase orders.
- Coordinate with the Yuminaga Spice & Tea team regarding pricing, samples, product information, and customer requirements.
- Share customer feedback, market trends, competitive insights, and potential sales opportunities with the company.
Compensation
- This is a commission-only independent contractor position.
- Commission: 5% of net collected sales generated by the representative.
- Commission is paid only after Yuminaga Spice & Tea has received payment from the customer.
- Additional compensation terms will be outlined in the independent contractor agreement.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least three years of sales experience is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
- Comfortable conducting outbound outreach to cafés, restaurants, and foodservice businesses.
- Previous experience in foodservice, restaurant supply, café operations, specialty beverages, retail, wholesale, distribution, or customer service is a plus.
- Existing relationships with café owners, restaurant operators, distributors, or foodservice buyers are strongly preferred.
- Interest in matcha, Japanese ingredients, food, beverages, or specialty products.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Able to communicate professionally by email, telephone, and online platforms.
- Able to track leads, follow up consistently, and provide regular sales updates.
Work Location
This position is fully remote. Candidates may work from anywhere in the United States. Preference may be given to applicants with strong relationships or established networks within the U.S. café, restaurant, specialty beverage, or foodservice industries.
