Job Description
My client is seeking an experienced mechanic for its Packing Department in their Cincinnati manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the reliability of their team by operating, maintaining and repairing all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves high customer satisfaction. All work must be performed in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform maintenance activities in a high-performance working environment on a shiftly basis to ensure optimum utilization of materials and manpower to maximize production, safety, quality and efficiency • Generate and complete work orders to ensure materials are available from the parts room. Initiate work requests when work cannot be performed immediately
- Communicate and work with other operators, line leaders and the technical leader on maintenance issues • Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed
- Participate in training to improve and maintain technical skills, teamwork, creativity and communication skills • Participate in root cause failure analysis with team members and maintenance leaders for major downtime • Actively participate in team and plant meetings and activities
- Follow all safety, housekeeping and regulatory agency requirements
- Accurately troubleshoot, perform preventative maintenance, coach and teach, and repair to original specifications of processing, packaging, and facility equipment
- Read and understand technical documentation including electrical and mechanical drawings • Safely operate maintenance shop tools
- Ability to test mechanical equipment
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma plus two years of technical training preferred
- 2-5 years maintenance experience preferred
- Excellent technical and troubleshooting skills and knowledge of all crafts, including mechanical, electrical and technical
- Leadership skills including:
o Conflict resolution and problem solving (analytical troubleshooting processes)
o Communication (effective listening, giving and receiving feedback)
o Organization and time management
o Goal and priority setting
o Continuous improvement
o Safety mindset
- Ability to interact cross-functionally and work in a team environment
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Must be willing to work 3shift
- Must be willing to work additional overtime as required
- Successfully qualify on operational skills and function as an operator when needed
- Must adhere to the plant’s attendance policy
- Business need may result in long hours and weekends
- Perform the necessary physical activity for purposes of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment including:
o Climbing stairs and ladders, standing on, and moving around on platforms, equipment and concrete floors, working at elevated levels
o Lift objects up to 75 pounds using proper lifting techniques
o Stand and walk at minimum 70% of the time
