C&A Protective Solutions is currently seeking professional and dependable Unarmed Security Officers to support our security operations located at Austin Street Center, a downtown Dallas recovery campus. We are looking for individuals who demonstrate strong integrity, situational awareness, and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for residents and visitors.
This is not a rover assignment. You will be assigned to one site, work with a consistent team, and report to a C&A site supervisor on the ground every shift.

What you will do
- Staff an assigned security post at Austin Street Center for a full 8-hour shift.
- Conduct scheduled patrols and log them in GuardOwl on your phone.
- Rotate posts when the site supervisor directs you to.
- De-escalate client situations. This site sees clients experiencing mental health crises, substance use, and domestic violence disclosures. You will not be alone — you will be part of a team — but you need to be steady.
- Support Chapel services and outside feeding events on weekend mornings.
- Assist campus staff with bed-pack setup and other agreed-on operational tasks.
- Complete a written incident report at the end of any shift where something happened.
What we require
- Texas Level II unarmed security license, active, or the ability to test and be licensed within 30 days of hire. C&A can help you get through the licensing process if you are close.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the downtown Dallas campus.
- Ability to stand and walk for the full 8-hour shift.
- Full uniform worn correctly every shift — shirt tucked, boots clean, no headphones or earbuds on post, personal phone stored except for work use.
- Willingness to complete site-specific training with Austin Street Center's on-site trainer before your first shift. You will not be placed on a post until you have completed that training. This is non-negotiable and it is how we protect you and the clients.
- No positive drug screen. Background check clearance.
- Ability to arrive on time. Any officer arriving more than 15 minutes late is sent home for the shift under this contract, so punctuality is not a soft expectation.
Pay and bonus
- $14.50 to $16.00 per hour, based on license class and prior site experience.
- 30-day performance bonus of up to $150 per officer for clean attendance, clean pre-post uniform inspections, completed GuardOwl tours, and no post-refusal or conduct write-ups. Details provided at orientation.
- Additional micro-bonuses available for officers who accept same-day open-shift call-ins at Austin Street Center.
Shifts available
- 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
- Weekend 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM 12-hour blocks
- Some officers work a fixed shift, some rotate. Tell us your preference and your real availability in the application; do not overpromise.

Our site supervisors, including the one you will report to at Austin Street Center, work the same hours as our officers, and payroll runs bi-weekly. If you have a problem on a shift, you can reach a live C&A supervisor, not an answering service.
We're rebuilding this team around officers who take the work seriously. Officers who meet the standard earn bonuses and will stay on board. Officers who do not meet the standard will be removed from the schedule.
