Job Title: Modem Test Engineer
Duration: 12+ months with possible extension

Pay Rate: $52–$55/hr on W2
Job Description
- Embedded Software/Modem Debug Engineer with strong experience in 5G modem software debugging, failure analysis, Linux-based embedded systems, and on-target debugging. The role will focus primarily on debugging new software builds, analyzing device logs to identify root causes, and developing test cases and automation scripts.
- Key Responsibilities
- Perform software debugging and failure analysis on 5G modem/mobile communication devices.
- Analyze OTA, QXDM, and Linux logs to identify and root-cause functional, stability, and performance issues.
- Perform on-target debugging using JTAG or similar tools.
- Develop test cases and automation scripts to automate testing and log collection.
- Work with embedded systems based on ARM and x86 architectures.
- Support 5G/4G wireless communication and modem development/testing.
- Work with Linux-based operating systems such as Android, Yocto, Ubuntu, RHEL, or QNX.
- Understand 5G O-RAN architecture, procedures, and use cases.
Must-Have Requirements
- Embedded software development experience with ARM and/or x86-based systems.
- Linux-based embedded operating system experience — Android, Yocto, Ubuntu, RHEL, or QNX.
- Mobile communication device experience, including smartphone/modem software debugging and failure analysis.
- On-target debugging experience using JTAG or similar debugging tools.
- QXDM or similar diagnostic tool experience for analyzing device and serial logs.
- Strong C programming experience.
- Device log analysis and root-cause analysis experience.
- Wireless communication knowledge, especially 5G/4G technologies.
- 5G modem development, testing, or debugging experience.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
