We are a busy, independently operated pizza restaurant in downtown Austin. We are looking for a hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager who can help oversee daily operations and grow into a larger management role.
This is not a desk-only management position. Because we are a small business, the right person must be comfortable wearing multiple hats—managing employees, working with Toast POS, assisting with payroll and marketing, solving day-to-day problems, and stepping behind the bar or onto the floor when needed.
In addition to the $50,000 salary, the Assistant Manager will have opportunities to bartend and earn tips.
Key Responsibilities
- Help manage day-to-day restaurant operations and staff
- Open and/or close the restaurant as scheduled
- Supervise, train, schedule, and hold employees accountable
- Maintain excellent customer service and resolve customer issues
- Manage and troubleshoot Toast POS, including menu items, pricing, reporting, and employee access
- Assist with payroll, timekeeping, tip reporting, and labor management
- Monitor food, beverage, and labor costs
- Assist with inventory, purchasing, vendor orders, and waste control
- Support local and internet marketing, including social media, online promotions, reviews, and customer engagement
- Bartend and assist with front-of-house operations as needed
- Step into other roles when necessary to keep the restaurant running smoothly
- Help improve sales, profitability, efficiency, and overall restaurant operations
What We're Looking For
- Restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred
- Toast POS experience strongly preferred
- Basic knowledge of payroll and employee timekeeping
- Comfortable with social media and internet marketing
- Bartending experience or willingness to bartend
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and restaurant peak hours
- Willing to be hands-on rather than simply delegate
- Able to thrive in a small-business environment where responsibilities may extend beyond a traditional job description
Compensation & Growth
- $50,000 annual salary
