For the pipe welders applying:
Description:
Pipe welders are needed in this area for multiple large-scale projects. Interested candidates should attach a resume showing a minimum of 5 years of pipe welding experience in the field. Applicants will be screened and evaluated at current area standards for steamfitter apprenticeship completion. Any unsatisfactory scores may result in training contract at lesser amount until applicant is able to pass all evaluations. Seasoned pipe welders will have no issues.
Education:
Must have equivalent of high school graduation. Must have completed an apprenticeship program approved by the Department of Workforce Development as a steamfitter or have formal recognition of journeyman status by the appropriate international or local trade union. Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
Wages:
· $54.61/hour for journeyman level pipe welders able to complete weld tests including the processes of SMAW and GTAW and possibly GMAW. Some projects offer overtime and/or per diem, but not all.
· Full benefit package includes health insurance, retirement funds, pension, and continuing education.
*Wages and benefits are fully guaranteed through area collective bargaining contracts and yearly increases should be expected.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of pipe welding experience.
- Must have SMAW and GTAW welding experience and be able to pass 6G pipe welding tests.
- OSHA and/or MSHA.
- Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
- Knowledge of layout, fit-up, fabrication, and installation of pipe, flanges, and valves.
- Read and interpret blueprints and P&ID’s.
- Must be physically and medically capable of wearing all required PPE required as prescribed under OSHA and/or MSHA.
Responsibilities may include:
- Layout, fabricate, and install pipe spools.
- Flame cut pipe to length and bevel, clean and prepare pipe for fit-up.
- Performs layout, rigging and transportation of pipe, valves and fittings.
- Threads pipe using threading machine.
- Bends pipe by hand or with pipe-bending tools and machine
- Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other workers.
- Properly select and use manual, pneumatic, and electric tools according to tasks.
- Hoist equipment and tools into location via bull rigging or crane.
- Use proper hand signals with heavy equipment operators.
- Loads, transports and unloads material, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Properly test piping systems for leaks by the correct use of hydro-testing equipment.
- Secures pipes to structure with brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand and power tools.
- Help maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Work at elevations above 4 feet.

For the plumbers applying:
We are currently looking for WI licensed plumbers for multiple projects in the area. These will be full-time, year-round positions with excellent pay and benefits. We will only accept applications that show you have a current Wisconsin plumbing credential. We are looking for Journeyman, but apprentices in a JAC apprenticeship will be considered.
- The minimum base wage for a journeyman will be $54.61 per hour.
- Wages for apprentices vary in accordance with the state JAC requirements.

- Supervisor material? Foreman scale is $57.41. General foreman is $59.61.
