Overland Corporation is seeking a dependable and hardworking Asphalt Plant Ground Hand to support daily operations at our Lawton, Oklahoma asphalt plant. This position is responsible for assisting with plant maintenance, equipment servicing, housekeeping, and general labor activities to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Perform routine maintenance and servicing of asphalt plant equipment.
Grease and lubricate plant components to ensure proper operation.
Monitor and maintain fluid and oil levels in plant equipment.
Assist with minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
Operate plant equipment and loaders as directed and qualified.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the plant, yard, and work areas.
Perform general labor tasks including shoveling, sweeping, raking, and material cleanup.
Assist with steam cleaning, painting, tire work, and mechanical repairs.
Support plant production activities and operational needs as directed.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
Work effectively with supervisors, operators, mechanics, and fellow team members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic knowledge of asphalt plant operations and maintenance practices.
Understanding of lubrication, greasing, and equipment servicing procedures.
Familiarity with mechanical systems and preventive maintenance concepts.
Knowledge of workplace safety practices and hazard recognition.
Ability to safely operate equipment and tools used in plant operations.
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous experience in asphalt production, construction, manufacturing, or industrial operations preferred.
Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills required.
Experience operating loaders or other heavy equipment preferred.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as needed.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and comply with company substance abuse policies.

Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
Regularly use hands and arms for lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and handling materials.
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, rain, dust, and noise.
Ability to work around moving mechanical equipment and industrial machinery.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, reflective vest, and steel-toed boots.
