Safety Relief Valve Technician
Great Western Valve is currently offering an opportunity for a Safety Relief Valve Technician to join our fast-paced, customer-oriented environment for our SRV group. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and efficient repair of safety relief valves in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Repair safety relief valves to National Board VR Code.
-Read and interpret manufacturers drawings and spring charts.
-Perform measurements with Steam boiler operating and testing, Dial calipers, Micrometers, and Dial indicators.
-Apply math skills to verify critical dimensions.
-Perform machine and hand lapping of nozzles and discs.
-Perform valve write-ups including nameplate data, guide and nozzle ring settings, and spring number.
-Pressure and leak test valves to National Board, API and ASME standards.
Qualifications
-High School Diploma or equivalent
-Industrial safety and relief valve experience
-Working knowledge of National Board Inspection Code (NBIC)
-Working knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)
