Job Summary
Kerley, Walsh, Matera & Cinquemani, P.C. a collegial law firm with offices in Long Island, New York City, and New Jersey, seeks an attorney admitted in New Jersey and New York to join its litigation defense team at our Mountainside, New Jersey location. The attorney will be working alongside seasoned attorneys that specialize in varied practice areas including product liability, premises liability, New York Labor Law, transportation and motor vehicle liability and general liability matters.
Duties
- Represent clients in litigation matters across various legal domains including product liability, premises liability, New York Labor Law, transportation and motor vehicle liability and general liability.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, mediation statements and reports to clients.
- Appear in Court on conferences and motions.
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Prepare for trials by organizing evidence and developing case strategies.
- Maintain communication with clients to keep them informed about case progress and developments.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff within the firm to ensure comprehensive representation.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to practice areas.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar in New York and New Jersey.
- Proven experience in litigation with an emphasis on insurance defense (but not required).
- Strong skills in legal research and writing; ability to produce high-quality legal documents efficiently.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful settlements.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
