Job Summary
We’re looking for an energetic and detail-oriented Assistant Kitchen Manager to help lead our culinary team. In this role, you’ll support daily kitchen operations, oversee food preparation, and ensure our standards for quality and safety are met. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, experienced in restaurant management, and eager to foster a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality food production.
- Support food preparation, cooking, and presentation according to established recipes and standards.
- Help manage inventory control, including stock rotation, ordering supplies, and reporting shortages.
- Oversee food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and compliance with health regulations.
- Train new team members on food handling, safety protocols, POS systems like Aloha or Micros, and customer service expectations.
- Manage shift schedules, monitor labor costs, and contribute to budgeting efforts.
- Collaborate with management to analyze profit and loss reports and identify opportunities for improvement.
Skills
- Proven experience in food service management or hospitality management within quick service or casual dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety standards.
- Familiarity with POS systems for cash handling and order processing.
- Excellent team management skills including supervising staff, training & development, interviewing, and leadership.
- Ability to handle inventory control, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis confidently.
- Effective communication skills for managerial tasks like staff training, shift management, and customer service.
- Experience in catering, banquet service, or hotel settings is a plus.
