Compensation: $160,000 – $190,000 Base Salary

A leading heavy civil construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to executive leadership, this individual will be responsible for the overall administration, financial performance, scheduling, safety, and execution of multi-million-dollar transportation and heavy civil construction projects.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing large infrastructure projects, leading project teams, maintaining client relationships, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Lead project teams from pre-construction through final closeout on complex heavy civil infrastructure projects, including:
- Bridges
- Highways
- Rail
- Tunnels
- Retaining Walls
- Drainage Systems
- Manage daily construction activities, schedules, field operations, productivity, and project performance.
- Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, contract requirements, and safety standards.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, reporting, and overall project execution.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Interpret and administer owner contracts and subcontract agreements.
- Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, and change orders.
- Review, negotiate, and execute subcontractor agreements and purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive CPM schedules using Primavera P6.
- Monitor project costs, revenue, forecasting, and cost-to-complete projections.
- Prepare and manage:
- Monthly cost reports
- Pay applications
- Subcontractor accruals
- Cash flow projections
- Manage subcontractor and supplier billing cycles while ensuring timely approvals.
- Maintain overall responsibility for project schedule, budget, and financial performance.
- Lead and mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Administrators.
- Support recruiting, onboarding, and professional development of project staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching to improve team performance.
- Foster a collaborative, accountable, and safety-focused project culture.
- Partner with the Safety Department to develop and implement project-specific safety plans.
- Promote a zero-incident safety culture across all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Implement quality control initiatives that improve project execution and client satisfaction.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project owners and clients.
- Lead coordination meetings with DOT agencies, municipalities, consultants, and other public stakeholders.
- Prepare and present project updates, progress reports, change order logs, claims documentation, and executive reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 10+ years of heavy civil construction project management experience.
- Experience managing complex transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Proven leadership experience managing Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and project support staff.

- Experience developing and maintaining CPM schedules using Primavera P6.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in active construction environments and travel to project sites as needed.
- Experience managing DOT, municipal, or other public infrastructure projects.
- OSHA 10-Hour and/or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
- Experience with bridges, highways, rail, tunnels, retaining walls, and drainage projects.
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction methods, public contracts, and infrastructure project delivery.
