Georgia System Operations Corporation (GSOC) is seeking a Cybersecurity Operations & Compliance Intern to support the Security Operations organization within Operations. This opportunity provides hands-on exposure to cybersecurity operations, security engineering, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, access management, and the regulatory programs that help protect critical electric infrastructure.
As a Cybersecurity Operations & Compliance Intern, you will work alongside experienced security operations, engineering, and compliance professionals while contributing to meaningful technical and regulatory initiatives. You will help support day-to-day cyber operations, documentation, evidence collection, compliance readiness, and operational continuity during potential NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) audit activities.
This opportunity is ideal for a technically curious and analytical student who enjoys investigating security topics, organizing complex information, solving problems, and learning how cybersecurity and regulatory compliance support reliable electric system operations.
What You'll Do
As a Cybersecurity Operations & Compliance Intern, you will support projects and recurring activities that contribute to cyber resilience, operational continuity, compliance readiness, and critical infrastructure protection.
You will:

Support cyber threat intelligence activities, including assigned research, review, analysis, and documentation.

Assist with vulnerability management activities and related tracking, documentation, or remediation support.

Support access management processes and cybersecurity-related operational requests.

Assist with cybersecurity and NERC CIP compliance programs, evidence collection, documentation, and audit-readiness activities.

Work with Windows systems, security tools, and networking concepts in support of day-to-day cyber operations.

Collaborate with security engineering, cyber operations, and compliance team members to helpmaintain operational continuity during audit-related activities.

Organize project findings,maintain accurate records, and communicate progress, questions, or barriers to the appropriate team members.

Participate in technical discussions and continuous improvement initiatives while developing an understanding of cybersecurity operations in a regulated environment.

Present a summary of your projects, accomplishments, outcomes, and key learnings at the conclusion of the assignment.
What You Bring

Current enrollment in a degree program in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, ora related field.

Interest in cybersecurity operations, security engineering, threat intelligence, vulnerability management, access management, regulatory compliance, or critical infrastructure protection.

Relevant technical knowledge or coursework involving computer science, cybersecurity, system administration, Windows systems, security tools, or networking.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research issues, organize information, and document findings.

Compliance & Critical Infrastructure
