Duties
- Assist nursing staff with daily patient care activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions, promptly reporting any changes to the healthcare team to ensure timely interventions.
- Support patients during procedures by preparing equipment and assisting with positioning to facilitate smooth clinical workflows.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and proper sanitation procedures.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records, including observations and care provided, ensuring compliance with hospital policies.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients and their families, fostering a caring atmosphere that promotes healing.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various departments such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, surgical units, outpatient clinics, and sub-acute care settings to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a recognized Nursing Assistant training program is preferred.
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent credential is highly desirable.
- Experience working in Level II trauma centers or Level I Trauma Centers is a plus, demonstrating ability to handle high-acuity situations.
- Prior experience in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, geriatrics, or medical-surgical units enhances your ability to adapt quickly across diverse clinical environments.
- Familiarity with inpatient settings as well as outpatient clinics or post-acute care environments such as sub-acute or outpatient rehabilitation is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively within teaching hospitals or complex healthcare systems are essential.
