Viridi Operations Overview
The Viridi facility is a Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) upgrading plant that utilizes landfill gas as its primary biogas source. Located adjacent to the landfill, the facility upgrades landfill gas into pipeline-quality natural gas and operates continuously, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday on day shift, with participation in a rotating on-call schedule to support nights and weekends as needed.
Key process equipment includes:
- Gas compression systems
- Siloxane and NMOC removal systems
- Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) removal systems
- CO₂, O₂, and N₂ removal through Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption (VPSA)
- Thermal destruction equipment (flare systems)
This Plant will be in the construction and commissioning phase.
Plant Operators will report to the Plant Manager.
Position Summary
The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the landfill gas-to-RNG upgrading facility. This role performs plant operations through the Distributed Control System (DCS), conducts routine inspections, troubleshoots process and equipment issues, and performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process systems.
The Plant Operator ensures compliance with environmental, safety, operational, and quality standards while maximizing plant availability and RNG production. This position also supports the operation and maintenance of the Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS) and other on-site activities. Additional technical and operational support is provided through Viridi Operations and Corporate teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ensure all employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to company safety and security procedures.
- Operate and maintain biogas upgrading equipment and support systems to maximize RNG quality, production, reliability, and safety.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Calibrate plant systems and instrumentation as required.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve process deviations and equipment performance issues.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Conduct routine operator rounds and inspections, collecting, analyzing, and reporting operational data.
- Operate and maintain the Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
- Manage inventories of consumables, spare parts, and operating supplies.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Participate in overtime and rotating on-call assignments, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Maintain professional, courteous, and respectful relationships with all business partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, industrial operations, or a related technical field.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems, including equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
- Ability to learn plant processes and successfully qualify as a Plant Operator.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
- Ability to participate in the on-call rotation and respond to site alarms or operational needs within 75 minutes when scheduled on call.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in technical discipline.
- Relevant technical certifications.
- Experience in chemical processing, gas processing, or similar industrial operations.
- Experience within the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) or Natural Gas industry.
- Experience with Landfill Gas Collection and Control Systems (GCCS).

Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, control rooms, outdoor locations in all weather conditions, and industrial plant environments.
- Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to respond promptly to alarms, alerts, and changing plant conditions.
- Ability to safely work with a variety of chemicals and industrial materials while utilizing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
