Job Summary

Duties
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging surgical supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision and speed
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety throughout surgeries
- Monitor vital signs and physiological responses of patients during operations, providing support as needed
- Collect and document data related to surgical procedures, patient responses, and instrument counts in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms
- Support preoperative and postoperative patient care activities including positioning patients and assisting with dressing wounds
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and infection control protocols to optimize surgical outcomes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technologist in hospital or ambulatory surgery center settings
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and infection control practices
- Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers preferred; familiarity with PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) and critical care environments is a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in OR procedures including suturing, sterile technique, and handling complex instrumentation
- Ability to analyze situations quickly and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances during surgeries
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandatory
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or other hospital information systems for accurate documentation
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on safety, attention to detail, and teamwork in high-pressure environments
- Prior experience in medical-surgical units, emergency medicine settings, or ICU environments highly desirable

Pay: $20.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
