Songbird is a small, hospitality-driven bar in Raleigh built around thoughtful drinks, seasonal ingredients, and a warm sense of ritual. By day, we serve coffee, juices, smoothies, and light offerings. By night, we shift into a relaxed bar experience with cocktails, low-ABV drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails, wine, beer, and seasonal food.
We are looking for a bartender who is warm, curious, organized, and excited about thoughtful drinks. This is a guest-facing role for someone who cares about hospitality as much as technique.
As a bartender, you’ll help create the evening experience at Songbird. You’ll prepare cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, low-ABV drinks, wine, beer, and other beverages while helping guests feel cared for and welcome.
Because we are a small team, this role may also include taking orders, running drinks, supporting food service, helping with prep, cleaning, restocking, and assisting wherever needed during service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare cocktails, non-alcoholic cocktails, low-ABV drinks, wine, beer, and other beverages
- Provide warm, attentive, and relaxed guest service
- Learn and communicate menu details, ingredients, and seasonal offerings
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar station
- Batch, garnish, prep, stock, and reset the bar as needed
- Follow recipes, service standards, and safety procedures
- Handle POS transactions accurately
- Check IDs and follow all alcohol service laws
- Support servers, hosts, kitchen staff, and other teammates during service
- Help with opening, closing, side work, and inventory tasks
- Bring curiosity, professionalism, and care to each shift
What We’re Looking For
- Previous bartending experience required, extensive preferred
- Interest in cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks, seasonal ingredients, wine, beer, coffee, and hospitality
- Calm, friendly, and organized under pressure
- Strong attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team
- Willing to learn and follow house recipes
- Reliable, punctual, and communicative
- Available for evening and weekend shifts
- Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service in North Carolina
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
