Duties
- Design and teach cheerleading routines that combine dance, stunts, jumps, and tumbling to showcase team spirit and athleticism
- Lead practices focusing on skill development, teamwork, discipline, and safety protocols
- Monitor participants’ progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance technique and confidence
- Ensure all activities adhere to safety standards, including proper spotting techniques and injury prevention measures
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and staff regarding schedules, performance expectations, and progress updates
- Organize team events and performance showcases.
- Maintain equipment safety checks and ensure a clean, organized practice environment
Skills
- Proven experience in cheerleading coaching or related sports coaching roles with a strong understanding of cheerleading techniques
- Background in sports-specific training instruction such as gymnastics, dance, or cheerleading
- Excellent communication skills to motivate athletes and collaborate with parents and staff
- Ability to manage behavior effectively while fostering a positive team atmosphere
- Experience working with children or youth in educational or recreational settings
- Familiarity with athletic training equipment or gym facilities is a plus
- Strong leadership qualities to inspire teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship among diverse age groups
