Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our underground utilities/paving construction team to operate a variety of heavy machinery to support construction projects, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality. This position offers an opportunity for motivated individuals to make a tangible impact on projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and other machinery with precision and safety awareness.
- Perform site preparation tasks including grading, excavation, and land clearing to prepare for foundation work or infrastructure installation.
- Assist in material handling by loading and unloading supplies using appropriate equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance; perform basic maintenance as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to coordinate equipment usage across different phases of construction projects.
Experience
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment on commercial.
- Mechanical knowledge sufficient to troubleshoot minor issues and perform routine maintenance on machinery.
- Familiarity with construction site safety procedures and OSHA standards.
- Hands-on experience with various types of machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators is highly desirable.
Communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
