SUMMARY: The Facilities & Operations Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and organized operation of Operation Stand Down Tennessee's facilities, warehouse, fleet, community room, equipment, and operating systems. This position performs preventive and corrective maintenance while coordinating warehouse operations, inventory management of agency supplies, community room readiness, fleet inspections, and general operational support.
The Facilities & Operations Technician serves as a key member of the Operations team by ensuring agency facilities, equipment, warehouse operations, and event spaces remain safe, functional, organized, and ready to support Operation Stand Down Tennessee's mission. Working collaboratively across departments, this position supports veterans, staff, volunteers, community partners, and visitors by maintaining a professional, safe, and welcoming environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilities and Maintenance:
- Perform routine, preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on agency buildings, grounds, equipment, and operating systems.
- Perform repairs involving electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, flooring, doors, locks, and other building components.
- Assist in renovation, remodeling, demolition, and general construction projects as assigned.
- Perform routine inspections of facilities, vehicles, equipment, and building systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Coordinate and document preventive maintenance schedules for facilities, vehicles, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and completed work orders.
- Coordinate with approved vendors and contractors as directed.
- Participate in developing departmental procedures and operational best practices.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles.
Warehouse Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Receive, inspect, organize, and properly store incoming deliveries and donated goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory management of agency supplies, maintenance materials, furniture, equipment, and warehouse assets.
- Rotate inventory and ensure materials are stored in accordance with agency standards.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain warehouse organization in accordance with OSHA and agency safety standards.
Community Room Operations:
- Coordinate the setup and breakdown of community rooms for meetings, trainings, volunteer activities, and special events.
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other event furnishings as required.
- Maintain community room furniture, equipment, and supplies in clean and serviceable condition.
- Ensure community rooms remain clean, organized, and prepared for scheduled events.
General Duties
- Adhere to all Agency and Department policies and procedures.
- Participate in Agency and Department meetings, data collection, and Quality Improvement Monitoring and Review.
- Complete purchase requests and maintain required supporting documentation in accordance with agency procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of two years of experience in facilities and maintenance. Preferred certification and/or licensure in one or more skill areas (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry) or demonstrated skills and working knowledge (including use of tools) equivalent. OSHA-compliant forklift certification or ability to obtain. Possesses valid current driver's license.

Pay: $43,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
