Now Hiring: Experienced Restaurant Floor Manager
We are looking for a professional, dependable, and experienced Floor Manager to join our team.
This is a hands-on working management position. We are a small, fast-paced restaurant, and our Floor Manager will be expected to actively work alongside the team throughout their shift while also managing daily front-of-house operations.
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to supervise or delegate responsibilities. The Floor Manager must be willing and able to step into any necessary front-of-house position, assist employees during busy periods, and help wherever needed to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing daily front-of-house operations and ensuring the restaurant floor runs efficiently.
- Actively working alongside employees throughout the shift.
- Answering phones, taking orders, assisting customers, running the register, and stepping into other front-of-house positions as needed.
- Scheduling and managing employee breaks. The Floor Manager will be responsible for stepping into positions and providing coverage so employees can take their scheduled breaks without disrupting restaurant operations.
- Helping fill gaps in the schedule when necessary and assisting with maintaining proper shift coverage.
- Assisting with stocking and restocking supplies throughout the shift.
- Helping prepare and expedite takeout orders and items as needed, including salads, garlic knots, and other items necessary to keep service moving efficiently.
- Monitoring the flow of the restaurant and recognizing where additional help is needed without always having to be asked.
- Providing additional support during busy periods, including assisting servers, phones, takeout, stocking, cleaning, and other necessary tasks.
- Supervising employees and maintaining a professional and productive work environment.
- Enforcing the restaurant’s no-phone policy and other workplace expectations consistently and professionally.
- Ensuring all opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities are completed thoroughly and correctly.
- Checking employee work and holding employees accountable for completing assigned responsibilities.
- Addressing employee concerns, performance issues, and workplace conflicts professionally and appropriately.
- Maintaining strong communication between front-of-house employees, kitchen staff, and ownership.
- Providing clear direction during busy periods and ensuring employees remain focused on their responsibilities.
- Maintaining high standards for customer service, cleanliness, organization, teamwork, and employee performance.
- Stepping in wherever necessary to keep restaurant operations running smoothly.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of restaurant experience required.
- Previous restaurant management or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Must have strong communication and leadership skills.
- Must be dependable, organized, and comfortable holding employees accountable.
- Must be able to multitask and recognize what needs to be done in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Must be willing and able to work hands-on alongside the team throughout the entire shift.
- Must be comfortable stepping into different positions and helping wherever needed.
- Must have flexible availability and the ability to assist with filling scheduling gaps when necessary.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who understands that managing a small restaurant means being an active part of the team. The right person will lead by example, recognize what needs to be done, step in without constantly needing direction, and help create an organized, professional, and productive work environment.
Our Floor Manager should be someone who can lead the team while also being willing to answer the phone, cover a break, stock supplies, expedite a takeout order, help prepare necessary items, clean when needed, or step into any other area necessary to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
