Step into a high-impact, on-site EHS leadership role supporting a utility-scale wind construction project with a major renewable energy developer. You’ll be the boots-on-the-ground safety leader walking active work areas, influencing contractor teams, identifying risks before they become incidents, and helping create a safety culture across a major renewable energy build.

What you’ll do:
- Understand Contractor SSSP and all contractual Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) reporting requirements.
- Identify potential safety hazards and assess risks associated with various project activities.
- Develop mitigation plans prioritizing the well-being of personnel and environment with project safety teams.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA Federal and State regulations.
- Stay current with local, State, and Federal safety regulations and standards applicable to Clearway projects.
- Provide input to Contractor Safety team and CEG Site Management team on Safety related matters.
- Administer safety training programs to ensure all personnel are informed of potential risks and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing education to promote a culture of safety awareness.
- Ensure and understand that Clearway site team does not provide direction to the EPC, rather observe, and suggest recommended changes based on the EPC contractual agreement and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to assess compliance with safety standards, regulatory and contractual safety requirements, and to identify potential hazards.
- Initiate or suggest corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks and maintain safe working conditions.
- Meet with site team daily to review and discuss Safety Observations, concerns, corrective actions.
- Attend and participate in daily POD with the EPC contractor, and vendors.
- Support investigations into safety incidents and accidents, identifying root causes.
- Work with Contractor Safety team and CEG site management team to review site incident information. Ensure investigative reporting meets contractual obligations, adequately provides incident findings, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate incident records reporting.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive safety documentation, including safety plans, procedures, and protocols.
- Ensure that all personnel have access to relevant safety information.
- Prepare safety reports for Clearway site management team and Clearway construction Safety Department.
- Oversee monthly inspections of PPE, first aid kits, AEDs, and fire extinguishers carried in vehicles.
- Communicate emergency response plans and protocols for scenarios such as natural disasters or accidents.
- Coordinate with EPC on drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of response plans.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, CEG site team, Contractors, Suppliers, and regulatory agencies to foster a strong safety culture of teamwork, a shared value safety culture, and the alignment of safety goals.
- Regularly review and analyze site safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Work with the Contractor Safety team and CEG site team to implement changes to enhance safety performance and minimize risks.
What you get:
You’ll earn $50–$55.50/hour with PTO/holiday pay eligibility. This is a one-year project assignment running through July 2027, with a 40-hour weekly schedule.
For qualified traveling candidates, you’ll receive $160/day per diem, rotation travel support, flight reimbursement up to $400 per rotation, $1,500 mobilization/demobilization assistance, a company-provided truck and laptop, plus a $50/month cell phone allowance.

You’re a field-focused safety professional who knows real safety happens through presence, communication, and relationships, not just paperwork. You’ve spent time onsite, understand contractor-driven construction environments, and know how to influence teams while maintaining strong safety standards.
Desired Skills & Expertise
- 5+ years of EH&S experience onsite
- Possess one or more of the following:
- Certified Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- OSHA 30 credentials required.
- Proven experience in safety management, preferably in renewable energy or construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of safety regulations, codes, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead and engage project teams.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc.
- Able to work closely and effectively with other site team personnel and project managers.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- HS Diploma or GED required
