Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Shipping Associate to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for preparing products for shipment and coordinating with the shop and yard teams to ensure customer orders are shipped accurately, safely, and on time. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, works well independently and as part of a team, and takes pride in producing quality work.
Essential Responsibilities
- Pack, box, and crate small parts, components, and finished products for shipment.
- Perform minor mechanical assembly of parts, as required, prior to shipment.
- Verify shipment contents by reading packing lists, work orders, and print to ensure accuracy.
- Document completed shipments with required paperwork and photographs.
- Assist the yard and shop teams in consolidating, stacking, and staging products for outbound trucks.
- Safely load and unload materials using a forklift and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe shipping area.
- Communicate with production and office personnel regarding shipping priorities and order status.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform light assembly work.
- Ability to read packing lists, drawings, and basic prints to verify shipment contents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in shipping, manufacturing, or warehouse environments is preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification is preferred.
