Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Perform thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and health histories to determine individual needs.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions and other specialized treatments.
- Manage catheterization procedures, tube feeding, wound suturing, and sterile techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations such as specimen collection, processing, and medical imaging coordination.
- Provide specialized care for patients with complex conditions like dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or those requiring memory or behavioral health management.
- Support discharge planning and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transition of care across settings.
- Maintain detailed medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Skills
- Proven experience in critical care environments such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers with acute pain management expertise.
- Strong background working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal ventilator care, and individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation and communication.
- Skilled in IV insertion, phlebotomy, venipuncture, catheter care and injection administration using aseptic techniques.
- Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate medical recordkeeping and billing processes.
- Experience in emergency medicine settings including urgent care or emergency rooms with triage responsibilities.
- Familiarity with infection control protocols and hospice or palliative care practices to support end-of-life patients compassionately.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with physiology knowledge to evaluate symptoms effectively and respond promptly.
