Compensation
Regenis is looking for a talented Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist to join the team full-time. This position pays $115k – 135k per year depending on experience.

Job Summary
The Process Safety Management (PSM) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving Regenis’ Process Safety Management (PSM) program to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies. This position partners with operations and maintenance, engineering, safety, and leadership teams to identify and mitigate process safety risks, maintain program documentation, conduct audits, and foster a strong process safety culture. The PSM Specialist serves as a technical resource to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Up to 50% travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Process Safety Management
Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the company's Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
Ensure compliance with OSHA PSM, EPA Risk Management Program (RMP), and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
Maintain PSM documentation, policies, procedures, and required records.
Monitor regulatory changes and recommend updates to ensure ongoing compliance.
Process Hazard Analysis & Risk Management
Coordinate and facilitate Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), HAZOP studies, What-If analyses, FMEA, LOPA, and other risk assessments.
Track PHA recommendations and corrective actions through completion.
Identify process hazards and recommend effective engineering and administrative controls.
Support Management of Change (MOC) activities by evaluating process safety impacts of proposed modifications.

Manage and support all required PSM program elements, including:
Process Safety Information (PSI)
Operating Procedures
Mechanical Integrity
Management of Change (MOC)
Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR)
Incident Investigation
Employee Participation
Contractor Safety
Hot Work Permits
Emergency Planning & Response
Compliance Audits
Coordinate periodic compliance audits and ensure corrective actions are completed on schedule.
Incident Investigation & Continuous Improvement
Participate in and facilitate investigations of process safety incidents and near misses.
Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive actions.
Track action items to successful completion.
Analyze trends and recommend improvements that reduce operational risk and improve reliability.
Training & Collaboration
Provide guidance and training on PSM requirements, safe operating practices, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, EHS, and leadership to achieve process safety objectives.
Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for process safety.
Foster a proactive safety culture focused on continuous improvement.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate compliance records, metrics, and performance reports.
Prepare documentation for regulatory inspections and internal audits.
Develop reports and presentations for leadership regarding PSM performance and improvement initiatives.
Additional Responsibilities
Support emergency response planning and preparedness activities.
Provide process safety expertise for capital projects and operational improvements.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119) requirements.
Knowledge of process hazard analysis methodologies including HAZOP, What-If, FMEA, and LOPA.
Familiarity with Management of Change (MOC), Mechanical Integrity, and incident investigation processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing and presentations.
Ability to facilitate meetings, audits, investigations, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and document management systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, process flow diagrams, and technical documentation.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to regulatory compliance.
Ability to work independently while building effective relationships across multiple departments.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
Minimum Requirements
Working knowledge of EPA Risk Management Program (RMP) requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent combinations of education, technical training, and relevant experience will also be considered.
Three or more years of experience in Process Safety Management, process engineering, industrial safety, chemical manufacturing, refining, energy, or a similar industrial environment.
Experience with OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, or comparable regulatory compliance programs.
Experience leading Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), incident investigations, and compliance audits.
Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Process Safety Professional (CCPSC), Professional Engineer (PE), or related credentials are a plus.
Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with travel to project sites.
Site visits may involve outdoor work, ladders, and stairs in varying weather conditions.
Reliable high-speed internet required.
Location
Remote within California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico, Nevada, South Dakota, Texas, Washington, Wisconsin, or Wyoming.
