Responsibilities
- Travel to patient locations, including homes, clinics, or community sites, to perform blood draws and specimen collection with precision and care
- Obtain blood samples through venipuncture and skin puncture techniques, adhering strictly to aseptic procedures and safety protocols
- Prepare specimens for laboratory processing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and transportation according to established guidelines
- Maintain clear documentation of collection procedures, patient interactions, and specimen details in compliance with privacy laws and laboratory standards
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures clearly, addressing concerns compassionately, and ensuring comfort throughout the process
- Follow all laboratory procedures and techniques accurately while demonstrating strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and laboratory best practices
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures, techniques, or clinical laboratory settings with a focus on phlebotomy or specimen collection
- Knowledge of venipuncture methods, blood sampling techniques, and specimen processing protocols
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe blood collection
- Prior hospital or healthcare facility experience preferred; familiarity with patient care standards is highly valued
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and education during procedures
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple appointments efficiently in various community settings
- Valid certification in phlebotomy or related laboratory fields is preferred; ongoing training or certification is encouraged for professional growth
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
