Care Right There Home Care is seeking a Live-In Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) with specialized training in Dementia and Alzheimer's care. What You'll Do
Goal-Based Client Support
- Partner with our nursing and care management team on client-specific care goals
- Track progress and adjust your approach as needs evolve
- Document progress clearly and consistently
Cognitive & Functional Activities
- Lead memory games, orientation exercises, puzzles, and conversation-based engagement
- Support independence through dressing practice, fine motor tasks, and sorting activities
- Assist with RN- or therapist-directed exercises (range of motion, balance, safe ambulation)
- Facilitate music therapy, art, cooking, and other meaningful routines
Daily Personal Care
- Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, feeding, and hygiene
- Support safe transfers, mobility, and prescribed exercise programs
- Maintain safety through supervision, fall prevention, and behavioral redirection
Specialized Dementia & Alzheimer's Care
- Apply validation, redirection, and calm-communication techniques
- Monitor and document behavioral changes — confusion, anxiety, wandering, agitation
- Build structured routines that reduce cognitive stress and promote stability
Technology & Communication
- Log care notes and track goals using tools like AxisCare
- Use simple client-facing tech (music playlists, brain-game apps, digital photo albums)
Household & Safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and support hydration
- Handle light housekeeping tied to client care (laundry, dishes, tidying)
- Accompany clients to appointments as needed
What You'll Need
- Active NJ CHHA Certification (preferred)
- Dementia/Alzheimer's training or certification
- Minimum 1 year of memory care experience
- Ability to commit to a live-in schedule (residing in the client's home 24/7)
- Reliable transportation
- Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills
