The Product Design Architect team is part of Google's Hardware Design organization, and our core mission is to support the industrial design team's vision by developing ideas into products. We shape the future by designing consumer devices that harness the power of Google to delight and inspire millions of people worldwide.
Our Product Design Architect team uses a deeply-considered approach to craft beautiful, production-ready Class-A surfaces with an extremely high bar for quality, aesthetics, and mathematical precision. Beyond delivering these user-visible surfaces, we also partner cross-functionally to investigate mechanical/component architectures and develop innovative design concepts for appearance models, visualizations and functional prototypes.
As a Product Design Architect, you’ll use 3D CAD software to capture and maintain industrial design vision from concept to production. You have an understanding across a broad range of manufacturing processes and leverage cross-functional collaboration to meet requirements across engineering, UX, reliability and cost.
In this role, you will be passionate about pushing 3D CAD to the highest level, sweating the details to bring beautiful designs into mass production.
The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
