American Traveler is hiring a travel LVN/LPN with previous travel experience and an active Alaska license for a 26- or 13-week long-term care assignment.

Long-term care (LTC) facility with 40 total staffed beds

Patient ratio of 1:20

Shift options include Days (0700–1930) or Nights (1900–0730); travelers are generally not asked to rotate between day and night shifts, though occasional exceptions may occur for urgent staffing needs

Schedule is 3x12 or 4x12 hours, variable, at traveler's choice

Contract length is traveler's choice of 13 or 26 weeks

Float between all facilities within Alaska may be required to meet facility needs; refusal to float may result in termination

On-call is not required

Block scheduling is not available

Active Alaska LPN/LVN license required — pending licenses are not accepted; license required if applicable

Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required

Previous travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered

Current BLS certification required

Valid driver's license and proof of insurance (including rental car coverage) required to use facility-provided vehicle

Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

All caregivers must obtain the Alaska Food Worker Certification, which is completed during on-site orientation — no prior completion is needed, though there is a one-time $10 fee paid by the traveler

Scrubs of any color are acceptable

Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

For 26-week contracts, no more than 2 weeks of RTO will be considered; travelers must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

All RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration; RTO will not be considered after an offer is made or a contract is signed

The facility arranges a vehicle for the traveler's use during the assignment for local transportation within a 30-mile radius; the vehicle is available no earlier than 72 hours before the contract begins and must be returned within 24 hours of contract end

The traveler is the only authorized operator of the facility-provided vehicle; the vehicle must be returned clean and with a full tank of gas

If the traveler takes time off during the contract, the vehicle must be returned and will be reissued upon return
