PrimeTest Automation, a 20+ year-old multi-million dollar systems integrator based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida is growing and looking for Electrical Technicians/Machine Builders to join our team. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and excited to work with cutting edge automation projects. This opportunity will allow the right candidate to work on varied projects touching areas such as aerospace, medical, packaging, military, automotive, advanced research, and much more. Candidate must be detail oriented and able to adjust quickly to work on multiple projects. Candidate must be hands-on and able to work with a diverse team to bring projects to a successful completion in a timely manner. Base pay is commensurate with experience.
Skills requirements:
- Associate degree in Related Field, Technical Degree or equivalent experience.
- Automated machine-building background preferred
- 2+ years of machining or tool & die experience
- Manual machining including mill and lathe
- 1 year experience reading electrical drawings and wiring automated systems - provide correct power and I/O signals necessary for system performance.
- 1 year experience mounting components
- Experience and knowledge of calibration.
- Any experience with PLC and Robotic programming looked upon favorably.
- High level of excitement about working with machine automation in a constantly evolving environment
- Effective communication with management, customers, and vendors is essential to success.
Responsibilities and activities specific to the position include the following:
- Support metalworking projects from planning and fabrication through assembly, inspection, and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics.
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.
- Measure, examine, and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers.
- Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools in order to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Calibrate measuring instruments with Master Gage Block Sets.
- Assist will various aspects of specific machine build including assembly of complex systems.
- Reading Electrical Drawings and Wiring of Automated Systems - provide correct power and I/O signals necessary for system performance.
