Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Long Term Contract Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. This role involves providing comprehensive patient for an IDD facility located in Gainesville, FL. The qualified RN will provide care for various clinical/residential settings, ensuring adherence to best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive nursing experience, including med/surg, behavioral health, hospital medicine, and long-term care environments, with a strong focus on patient-centered care. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient outcomes while working within a dynamic and supportive team.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed medical histories to inform appropriate care plans.
- Administer medications and injections accurately.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care planning, case management, and follow-up care for adult residents.
- Document all patient interactions comprehensively using paper charting while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patients with chronic conditions, adulta, geriatrica, memory care, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpreting physiological data for effective treatment.
- Engage in health coaching and education for patients and their families to promote wellness and adherence to treatment regimens.
- Ensure infection control protocols are meticulously followed across all procedures to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant jurisdiction with current certification.
- Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology,and documentation standards.
- Experience working in diverse settings such as long-term care /residential facilities, assisted living communities, and outpatient clinics.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care across adult groups including developmentally disabled and geriatrics aged patients.
